Mr. Godfrey Coker
Godfrey Coker was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on the coast of West Africa. In 1999, due to the terrifying civil war taking place there, Godfrey was placed on Temporary Protective Status (TPS) as a refugee. After witnessing the horrors and aftermath of war he is determined to find ways to help his country.
So far, his journey in the United States has included both Kentucky and Indiana and employment opportunities with various companies. Each opportunity has fostered endless possibilities for personal growth and service to others.
His latest service affiliation has been with the Minority Health Coalition of Indiana where he conducted workshops on nutrition, hygiene, and physical activity for urban youth. In addition, as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Godfrey has strived to model all the philanthropic opportunities he has been presented with after the organization's professional module.
As a U.S. citizen, Godfrey currently resides in Indianapolis and is in process of furthering his education at the IU School of Medicine. Being blessed with such amazing opportunities has fostered his life-long desire to help others in need.
